We are concerned over the plight of pit bulls in need of loving homes. It is disheartening when we see so many in shelters throughout the nation. Approximately half of the two-plus million dogs killed in shelters in recent years have been pit bulls and pit mixes. The percentage of pit bulls and pit mixes is rising as the numbers of other dogs coming into shelters continues downward. The overpopulation of pit bulls is undeniable. Many of us would like to rush in and save every one of them, but the overall issue is much more complex.

The most effective way to help the pit bulls in shelters is by preventing the overwhelming numbers of pit bulls looking for homes. A large part of our work at EAB inc is to curb the pit bull overpopulation problem through spay and neuter campaigns.
