Volunteer/Pit Crew Information
On November 22, 2009, educate a bull is proud to present the Third Annual Barksgiving: A Thanksgiving Event for dogs and their people. The purpose of this unique and exciting event is to give thanks to our canine companions for their constant unconditional love and the joy they bring into our lives. Barksgiving was an amazing success last year and we hope to increase participation and fundraising efforts even more this year. The Third Annual Barksgiving is being hosted by Canine Capers Dog Daycare in Hamburg, NY in conjunction with educate a bull. It will be a day filled with exciting events, activities and prizes.
Activities of the day:
All proceeds benefit educate a bull, an educational bully breed rescue in Buffalo, NY. educate a bull envisions a compassionate world where all pit bull type dogs reside in responsible, loving homes where their honor and positive image is restored and preserved. We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome bullies. We also support bully breed owners by offering a variety of resources in training, care, and positive outlets to better enjoy their dogs. Our goal is to educate the public to inspire a better understanding and appreciation of the breed. We also try to dispel damaging myths and to encourage responsible dog ownership.
We recently rescued a litter of eight puppies from the Laurel Street Dog Fighting Bust. These precious babies were sick, neglected and needed much medical care. They are getting healthier each and every day. But their care is very expensive.
To ensure that Barksgiving is a success, we need your help! We are looking for sponsorships, vendors and donations from area businesses and individuals. Vendors fees are $25.00 per table. We encourage dog-related products as it is a day for the DOGS!
Level of Barksgiving Sponsorships: LEADER OF THE PACK-$200.00, TOP DOG $100.00 FABULOUS FIDO $50.00 and PUP PALS $25.00. All checks to be payable to Buffalo Humane/educate a bull to PO Box 3143, Buffalo, NY, 14240.
